Georgia Department of Community Affairs Offering Assistance for Homeowners Impacted by Recent Storms

Families in Georgia whose homes were damaged by Hurricane Idalia, Tropical Storm Debby, or Hurricane Helene may be eligible for housing assistance through the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA).

The program is designed to help homeowners repair or replace storm-damaged homes, ensure access to safe and sanitary housing, and provide support for families who may be struggling to keep up with their mortgage.

Who Should Apply?

Applicants who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply for assistance:

  • Single-family homeowners whose primary residence was damaged in one of the listed storms

  • Households under low- to moderate-income thresholds

  • Households with a member who is disabled

  • Homeowners who experienced a COVID-related financial hardship

Required Documentation

Applicants will need to provide documentation related to their household and property. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Proof of homeownership

  • Verification of household members

  • Valid identification

  • Proof of income

  • Certification of COVID-related financial hardship
